Depopulation and aging populations, especially in rural areas, are reducing the revenues needed to maintain various public services. Theme 4 focuses on transport systems in a Beyond “Zero-Carbon” society . The goal is to make public transportation systems zero-carbon and propose solutions to other regional issues associated with transportation systems.

Various demonstration experiments will be carried out in collaboration with regional satellites, such as electrifying public vehicles, installing charging stations, and car sharing for tourists. Experiment results will be verified and standardized to meet regional needs. A standardized business model will be further disseminated to other regions as a sustainable business solution.
