Information system (RE-CODE)

Theme 3:Information system that connects region and technology to accelerate implementation (RE-CODE)
Our focus: “Information” to understand where we are now and where we want to go

Recognizing the region’s current status or position is the very first step in realizing the region’s future vision: to draw a roadmap through the pre-emptive LCM proposed in Theme 1. As such, “accessibility” to data and information will be as vital as organizing information about regional resources and industry characteristics. Data and information about the region’s resource potentials and energy demands will help design sustainable and feasible technologies and systems. However, such data or information needs to be more centrally controlled, which means that policymakers, practitioners, and researchers are not able to fully utilize or spend an inordinate amount of time or work on their planning.

Our approach: IInformation system (RE-CODE) to help the people of the region choose their future

Theme 3 aims to develop an integrated data platform named “RE-CODE.” Data and information will be stored and updated in the RE-CODE for retrieval and visualization. RE-CODE will help end-users select the best technology options for their region through pre-emptive LCM support and acceleration. In this way, RE-CODE will support constructive discussions among various stakeholders about the region’s future by visualizing the environmental and economic impacts of technology installation based on simulation and scenario analysis as emerging technologies evolve. RE-CODE will be updated and published on https://re-code.app/.
